About The Position

The Social Worker - BSW practices in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to support clients of the target group(s), significant others and those at risk. The Social Worker - BSW will have a thorough working knowledge of the Saskatchewan HIV Strategy and the Provincial Leadership Case Management Standards. The Social Worker - BSW will incorporate the Four Strategic Pillars of the Saskatchewan HIV Strategy into daily practice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Registered or eligible for registration with Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
  • Knowledge of the Sask Public Health Act & Communicable Disease Control Regs
  • Knowledge of social determinants of health affecting vulnerable populations
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Demonstrates leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently to plan and prioritize workload demands.
  • Knowledge in the harm reduction model
  • Knowledge of client exp. & client support required along the continuum of care
  • Leadership Skills
  • Has demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of population health approach to health promotion/prevention
  • Knowledge in principles/practices/concepts of community health/development
  • Has demonstrated strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to initiate and exercise critical thinking and decision-making
  • Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
  • Knowledge & skill in assessment, treatment & education related to sexual health
  • Knowledge of HIPA
