About The Position

Barnes Jewish Hospital is looking to hire a Social Worker (MSW). This is a full-time night shift position in the Emergency Department (ED) from 7pm to 7am, working Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The role involves assisting patients and their families in various settings to adapt and plan an interdisciplinary approach to treating the patient-family system. Employees working at an Illinois facility are required to have an Illinois state social work license or be able to take and pass the Illinois state social work licensing exam within 90 days of the first day of employment. The CM Services department, which includes Social Work, reports through the division of Patient Care Services. The Social Work department is open 24 hours/day and provides coverage throughout the hospital, including the Emergency Department, Outpatient Clinics, Registration sites, and Health Information Management.

Requirements

• MSW - Required
• Master's Degree in Social Work
• Employees working at an Illinois facility are required to have an Illinois state social work license or be able to take and pass the Illinois state social work licensing exam within 90 days of the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct clinical services to patients and families.
• Plans and implements social work services on assigned clinical service or unit in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Collaborates with community human service agencies to meet the needs of patients, families, and the hospital.
