The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Unit within the Health and Wellness Section. This program provides support to NYPD members who have been involved in or responded to critical incidents. The Social Worker will offer outreach, assessment, and support services to members experiencing stress related to personal issues, their occupation, or critical incidents. Key responsibilities include identifying obstacles to care, coordinating referrals to mental health, behavioral health, substance misuse services, and community resources. The role involves collaboration with psychologists, peer counselors, command staff, and community partners to ensure comprehensive care. The position requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information while participating in crisis response and wellness initiatives aimed at promoting resilience and overall well-being among NYPD members.
