About The Position

The Social Worker – Inpatient Behavioral Health performs clinical social work functions, social services case work, and discharge planning for clients on Cooley Dickinson’s Behavioral Health Unit (West 5) and their family members. The role assesses and addresses clinical treatment goals during inpatient care and establishes liaisons with community providers and other hospital programs to support continuity of care. Additional clinical services may include family education, biopsychosocial assessments, groups, and other aspects of treatment planning and implementation. The position reports to the Assistant Clinical Manager, Behavioral Health, and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
Current licensure as a Certified Social Worker (LICSW) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Current CPR certification.
CPI certification within 90 days.
Five years of experience in a social work setting and in mental health.
Current Massachusetts driver’s license, good driving record, and access to reliable transportation.
