About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, the incumbent will provide individual and group counselling to adults who have a history of violent offences or sexual offences, including child abuse material. The position will provide assessment, documentation and trauma informed forensic intervention for adult clients who are referred for Intimate Partner Violence Services. The position is under the Response to Violence Program with Adult Mental Health and Addiction Services.

Requirements

  • Master of Social Work (MSW)
  • Registered Social Worker (RSW)
  • Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
  • Demonstrated competence in clinical practice setting.
  • Ability to provide offense specific clinical services.
  • Knowledge of Intimate Partner Abuse treatment modalities.
  • Ability to provide individual forensic assessment and intervention.
  • Expert knowledge in treatment modalities for sexualized violence.
  • Knowledge in adult treatment and intervention techniques.
  • Expert knowledge and advanced skill in a variety of treatment modalities.
  • Knowledge in various mental disorders, etiology, treatment and intervention.
  • Familiarity with research methods specific to Intimate Partner Violence.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge in community development.
  • Knowledge of cross-cross-cultural issues and cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to work effectively with community-based organizations.
  • High level interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
  • Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Drivers License.

Responsibilities
