Also precepts new employees through the orientation process and mentors existing employees to enhance their professional development. Responsibilities include involvement with special projects upon assignment.

Requirements

  • LMSW license by the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners.
  • Internal promotion requires recommendation of Director with consideration of employee’s service excellence skills, overall professional expertise, appearance, behavior and the respect of fellow employees and physicians.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 5 years Social Work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Completes pre-discharge evaluations from patient/family interviews and healthcare team collaborations.
  • Based on evaluation, develops a viable plan of intervention for current needs and potential discharge needs with consideration of illness/injury, living situation, support systems and financial status.
  • Contributes to department’s ongoing professional enhancement thru role of preceptor and mentor and participation with assigned special projects.
