About The Position

The Social Worker MSW provides assessment and intervention to assist clients and families in improving social and economic difficulties that interfere with health and wellness. The role uses the casework process and principles, strategies, and community resources. The Social Worker determines clients’ needs through interviews, assessment of medical, psychological, emotional, and social information, and on-site visits; establishes courses of action and goals with clients; connects clients with community resources and agencies; supports client action or adjustment by interpreting attitudes and behavior patterns and explaining options; and provides individual and/or family therapy as indicated.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited educational institution.
• State of Michigan licensure as a Licensed Master’s Social Worker (LMSW).

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as a Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN).

Responsibilities

• Determine the nature of a client's situation through interviews, assessment of medical, psychological, emotional, and social information, and on-site visits.
• Establish a course of action by exploring options and setting goals with the client.
• Obtain assistance for clients by referring them to community resources, arranging appointments, and establishing rapport with other agencies.
• Foster client action or adjustment by interpreting attitudes and behavior patterns and explaining new options.
• Perform individual and/or family therapy as indicated.
