About The Position
The Adult Ambulatory Psychiatry Services has an opening for a Social Worker experienced in providing individual therapy and group therapy to patients who are clinically stable and would benefit from ongoing outpatient treatment. Our clinic provide mental health services to our Spanish Harlem community. The Social Worker will have initial support on how to perform intakes, crisis intervention and discharge planning. The social will also receive ongoing supervision. The Ambulatory Psychiatry Services program is located at 1160 Fifth Avenue.
Requirements
- NYS LMSW or LCSW
- Experience treating patients with serious/chronic mental illness
- Knowledge of and experience using evidence-based practices in treatment of adult mental illness
- Knowledge of DSM-V and experience in evaluation and diagnosis of mental illness
- Exceptional clinical, collaborative, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of community resources for adults with serious and persistent mental illness
- Minimum one year in current position
