You will play a crucial role in providing clinical mental health support to students with emotional and behavioral issues, including autism. Requirements

  • Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C)
  • Verification of having completed 3 semester hours or State-approved CPD credits in special education (for social workers)
  • MSDE Certification as a School Social Worker (for social workers)

  • Must submit required documents to apply for licensure within 30 days of accepting the position (for Social Worker)

Responsibilities

  • Conducting individual and group counseling sessions to address personal and environmental obstacles hindering students’ psychosocial functioning, work with families and engage in psychoeducation.
  • Acting as a vital member of the treatment team by contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluating treatment plans.
  • Collaborating with school systems and supporting families in accessing relevant community resources, while coordinating with local social service agencies when necessary.
