About The Position
Sheppard Pratt School in Glyndon is a leading provider of year-round special education and therapeutic services, catering to students grades K-12. Our comprehensive program serves students with a range of needs, including autism, emotional disability, intellectual disabilities, other health impairments, specific learning disability, and speech or language impairment. You will play a crucial role in providing clinical mental health support to students with emotional and behavioral issues, including autism. You will support students and their families in overcoming personal and environmental challenges.
Requirements
- Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Certified Social Worker – Clinical (LCSW-C)
- Verification of having completed 3 semester hours or State-approved CPD credits in special education (for social workers)
- MSDE Certification as a School Social Worker (for social workers)

- Must submit required documents to apply for licensure within 30 days of accepting the position (for Social Worker)
Responsibilities
- Conducting individual and group counseling sessions to address personal and environmental obstacles hindering students’ psychosocial functioning, work with families and engage in psychoeducation.
- Acting as a vital member of the treatment team by contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluating treatment plans.
- Collaborating with school systems and supporting families in accessing relevant community resources, while coordinating with local social service agencies when necessary.
