About The Position

New Bridge Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker MSW to join their Behavioral Health Evergreen IOP team. Requirements

  • Masters in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
  • Current NJ license as a LSW or CSW.
  • Maintain current levels of licensing, education, and skills as required for position and discipline.
  • Current driver's license required.
  • American Heart Association Heart Saver Certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience in psychiatric social work or comparable experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with behaviorally impaired population or those with addictions, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with psychiatrically impaired population or those with addictions, as appropriate.
  • An understanding of addiction treatments, including pharmacology.
  • Reporting and record keeping skills.
  • Cultural competence.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Speaks, reads, and writes English to the extent required by the position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide social work services including assessment, counseling, consultation, planning, community organization, policy, administration, research, and client-centered advocacy.
  • Offer clinical social work services under LCSW supervision, including clinical assessment, consultation, psychotherapeutic counseling, and client-centered advocacy.
  • Supervise students completing undergraduate or graduate social work coursework according to CSWE standards.
  • Provide individual and group counseling for emotional and mental health issues.
  • Build and maintain strong rapport with clients on individual and group levels.
  • Conduct accurate clinical assessments of clients' mental, emotional, and physical health, especially those with substance abuse issues.
  • Maintain detailed and concise client records.
  • Perform professional consultations with medical professionals, therapists, physicians, and court officers.
  • Conduct research within a clinical setting.
  • Perform screenings, intake assessments, and consultations for evaluating individual and family dynamics and treatment needs, including admissions and referrals.
  • Provide ongoing social work intervention and education to patients, families, and significant others regarding health-related psychosocial problems.
  • Utilize individual, family, group work, and crisis intervention methods to address issues affecting treatment participation and discharge planning.
  • Complete comprehensive psychosocial histories.
  • Provide direct treatment services using appropriate modalities, including individual, family, and group counseling, and crisis intervention, considering patient age and development.
  • Serve as a resource to the healthcare team on chemical dependence, psychiatric, and abuse issues, identifying, assessing, treating, and referring patients facing child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder abuse.
  • Provide case management services for assigned caseload to ensure treatment plan adherence and assist patients in obtaining supportive services and resources.
  • Interpret the nature of illness and prescribed treatment to patients and families, and communicate family issues to staff.
  • Act as a liaison to the healthcare team regarding family dynamics and facilitate discharges.
  • Act as a patient advocate with other Medical Center programs and function as a liaison with community providers.
  • Make presentations on relevant issues and Medical Center resources for community outreach.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary diagnostic and treatment planning conferences, making social work-related recommendations.
  • Fulfill case recording, statistical reporting, and documentation requirements accurately and timely.
  • Provide clinical supervision to paraprofessional staff and students as assigned.
  • Offer consultative services to the Evergreen Outpatient Program, Medical Center staff, and community agencies.
  • Assist in developing discharge care plans and suggesting appropriate community resources.
  • Deliver assessment, treatment, and patient care with knowledge of patient growth and development appropriate to the ages served.
  • Demonstrate customer service skills: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience, and helpfulness.
  • Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  • Assess and create necessary policies and procedures to fulfill gaps.

  • Actively participate in all required department meetings.
