About The Position

The Social Worker-MSW assesses clients for initial transplant suitability and re-evaluates candidates as directed. Counsels clients and facilitates group therapy. Provides assistance to patients and their families in the forms of diagnostic evaluation, individual, family & group therapeutic counseling and resource referral. Refers clients to community resources to enhance compliance with a complex long term medical regimen. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in social work.
  • Minimum one-year experience in clinical setting.
  • Able to use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position.
  • Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment.
  • Type 30 WPM without errors.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Follow policies consistently.
  • Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate.
  • Accept direction.
  • Able to positively and effectively manage complex interpersonal relations with patients and staff.
  • Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality.
  • Communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.

  • Work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Perform basic math functions.
  • Manage multiple assignments effectively.
