About The Position

The Behavioral Health Screener will support the implementation of Project ARK/WashU School of Medicine Infectious Diseases (WUID) Behavioral Health programming and duties. The Behavioral Health Screener will conduct behavioral health screenings in the clinic and provide referrals to mental health and psychiatry resources when appropriate. The Behavioral Health Screener will plan, organize, and implement social work services for patients and families. They will work closely with the Project ARK/WUID Behavioral Health team to ensure delivery of Behavioral Health services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree - Social Work
  • Currently a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois depending on location.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.)
  • No specific work experience is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Provides behavioral health screening services for patients.
  • Serves as first-line behavioral health crisis response for clinic.
  • Prepares psychosocial reports and maintains necessary records.
  • Schedules patient appointments and provides telephone follow-up.
  • Facilitates referrals and community resources for patients/families.
  • Verifies insurance coverage for patients.
  • Answers inquiries from patients/families about community resources.
  • Fosters a spirit of teamwork and collaboration and excellent customer service.
  • Maintains required HIPAA compliance, skills/competencies and participates in staff trainings and meetings, continuing education, and cross-training programs according to established standards and WashU policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the WUID Behavioral Health Program.
