Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work.
  • Three years post-master's direct clinical social work experience.
  • Well-developed critical thinking skills.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with medical professionals of all disciplines.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Multi-tasking and task management essential.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Training and experience must be in the scope of practice of the clinical specialty area of children, adolescent and/or adult patients, as well as family intervention.
  • Proven mastery of advanced sociological, psychological, and mental health care related interventions and issues.
  • NYS LMSW license.
  • Must maintain a collaborative agreement with a licensed physician in the field of practice of the Psychiatry with an active license in the State of New York.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical social work services to patients and families within the scope of practice for children, adolescents, and/or adult patients.
  • Utilize advanced sociological, psychological, and mental health care interventions and address related issues.
  • Work autonomously, set priorities, and make independent decisions of a complex nature.
