The Social Worker-Intake makes immediate and accurate assessments of reports and crisis situations for protective responses to vulnerable members of the community. The Worker consistently monitors SSIS to obtain Adult Protection reports from MN Adult Abuse Reporting Center (MAARC), acquires collateral information regarding the reports, researches current and past county involvement, and ensures timely responses when emergency protective services are identified. The Worker receives time-sensitive requests for Pre-Petition Screenings for Civil Commitment, completes follow-up, and ensures timely response. Manages the application process for Adult and Children’s mental health case management and therapeutic services, and serves as point person for Telehealth access. The Social Worker – Intake provides emergency and general information, as well as referrals to resources in the Department, community, and surrounding areas. Provides cross reporting services to other social services and law enforcement agencies and supports other intake requirements of the department.
