Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
  • A four-year degree in a human services field from an accredited college/university and one year of directly related experience.
  • A four-year degree from an accredited college/university and two years of directly related experience
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • A copy of transcripts must be included with the application. Failure to attach your college transcripts will result in an automatic rejection of your application.
  • The applicant selected must undergo a criminal background check and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
  • In compliance with G.S. 160A-164.2(b), if the position being filled requires an applicant for employment to work with children in any capacity, the County must require the applicant, if offered the position, to be subject to a criminal history record check conducted by the SBI. These checks must be performed in accordance with G.S.143B-1209.26, which authorizes the SBI to provide fingerprint-based state and national criminal record checks to cities and counties.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates MDT case review meetings where specific cases are discussed in a multi-disciplinary setting. This includes preparing case review list and distribution of case review list to MDT partners.
  • Documents case review discussion and follows up with outstanding needs.
  • Schedules upcoming forensic interview and medical evaluation appointments with referral partners. This includes ensuring complete referral information is obtained, confirming appointment times, and inputting information into shared calendar.
  • Provides comprehensive victim and family advocacy services including crisis intervention, trauma education, systematic guidance, and any needed referrals.
  • Documents all activities including family advocacy services/service referrals/follow up contacts.
  • Participates in local, professionally enhancing, and state-mandated trainings.
  • Participates in monthly staff meetings to discuss needs, updates, etc.
  • Assists in data collection and management of statistical report needs including case outcome data.
  • Conducts other duties as assigned related to Child Advocacy Center needs and services. This includes staffing Social Services response to community emergency shelter, as need arises.
