This position involves receiving, screening, and investigating all reports of neglect, abuse and exploitation of children. It further involves assessing, diagnosing, planning, and implementing treatment plans focused on prevention of foster care and rehabilitation through services provided to intact families in their own homes. Applicants should be skilled in crisis intervention and decision-making, as well as the ability to deal with hostile clients, and capable of legal intervention involving law enforcement and the court system. Good communication skills are essential. Applicant must be capable of acquiring and applying a thorough knowledge of the laws governing protective services. Position is subject to after-hours duty to provide emergency services. Requires the ability to work effectively in a teamwork setting and maintain a cooperative and effective working relationship with team members, community professionals, and agency leaders. Requires a valid driver's license as well as dependable transportation. Must possess and be able to demonstrate intermediate level of personal computer skills.
