The Medical College of Wisconsin Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, is seeking a clinically licensed, bilingual (Spanish and English) social worker to join the Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery. The Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (TACS) has an immediate opening for a clinically licensed social worker who is fluent in both Spanish and English with experience providing clinical services to adolescents and adults. This is a unique position; the TACS Psychology program recently received a grant from the National Alliance for Trauma Recovery Centers to start Milwaukee’s first Trauma Recovery Center (MKE TRC). This position will be providing evidence based, culturally responsive care to adolescent and adult survivors of violence and their families. Clinical experience is preferred, with training and supervision provided to qualified candidates in the care of adults and adolescents. This is a multidisciplinary clinic to provide mental health care; the clinical social worker will have a case load, engage in case management, group supervision, and ongoing training in a new and dynamic clinic environment. The social worker will work along-side psychologists, other social workers, and a psychiatrist, along with community stakeholders and organizations. This social worker will join a dynamic division where there will be possibilities to engage in training, research, and clinical innovation. There is a strong trauma psychology research program within the division and there will be multiple opportunities for cross collaboration.
