The Full-Time Child Foster Care Licensing Social Worker is responsible for supporting and overseeing foster care providers, including kinship families, non-relative foster families, and corporate foster care homes, to ensure children receive safe, stable, and high-quality care in licensed foster home settings. Licensors guide families through the initial licensing process, monitor ongoing licensing requirements, provide support, and help ensure compliance with state statutes and regulations. The role also includes investigative responsibilities as needed and recruitment activities aimed at increasing foster care resources within the community. The ideal candidate is organized, able to balance supportive engagement with accountability, can navigate complex situations, make sound judgements, and committed to creating positive outcomes for children and families. The Social Worker I is an entry level position responsible for identifying and assessing complex individual, family and community problems and strengths, selecting case work, group methods or community resources and implementing plans to protect vulnerable people, promote independence and prevent abuse or neglect. A Social Worker I may be assigned duties in any of the following units: Family/Children, Licensing, Chemical Health, Adult Mental Health, Development Disabilities, Adult Family Services, Adult Protection, Minnesota Family Investment Program/WorkForce Center or Housing.
