About The Position

This position is responsible for various duties based on clients’ individual needs. Duties include but are not limited to transporting clients to and from medical appointments and other agencies to assure they receive services needed. This position transports children of all ages and is responsible for ensuring their safety while transporting. This position will also provide transportation for children in DSS custody to visit with families, medical providers, and other facilities as needed in the provision of services. This position will provide supervision to clients at all times. This position is responsible for reports of the observation of visits, interaction with parents and/or caretakers, and reports for Medicaid reimbursement when required. This position communicates with the assigned Social Worker to familiarize themselves with necessary information that’s needed when transporting, monitoring/observing visits, or speaking with medical or mental health professionals. This position will not be assigned any cases and will not be responsible for ongoing monthly Foster Care Case Management duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution; OR Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license required upon hire and duration of employment. Out of state driver’s license will be accepted only if the individual is a permanent resident of that state.
• Must take and successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Motor Vehicle Records driver license check.
• Submit to random, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
• Criminal background check must be completed by the County of Robeson for potential applicants.

Responsibilities

• Transporting clients to and from medical appointments and other agencies.
• Monitoring visits, observing interactions, and resolving conflicts.
• Accompanying children to mental health and medical appointments.
• Completing home visits.
• Documenting duties daily for case records and financial reimbursement.
• Providing transportation for children in DSS custody to visit with families, medical providers, and other facilities.
• Providing supervision to clients at all times.
• Preparing reports of visit observations, interactions with parents/caretakers, and Medicaid reimbursement reports.
• Communicating with the assigned Social Worker for necessary information.
