About The Position

This position involves working knowledge of basic social work principles, techniques, and practices and their application to specific casework, group work, and community problems. The role requires knowledge of governmental and private organizations and resources in the community, as well as some understanding of behavioral and socioeconomic problems and their treatment. The individual must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative supervisors, clients and their families, and care providers and community organizations. Strong communication and organizational skills are necessary, along with proficiency in computer systems, NC FAST, and electronic document management. Training in NC FAST will be required, and the individual may transition into other income support programs. This role will also administer the Emergency Assistance program and Energy program.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of basic social work principles, techniques, and practices.
  • Knowledge of governmental and private organizations and resources in the community.
  • Some knowledge of behavioral and socioeconomic problems and their treatment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrative supervisors, with members of case load and their families, and with care providers and various community organizations.
  • Ability to express ideals clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to plan and execute work.
  • Knowledge of the computer, NC FAST, electronic filing of documents, scanning ability, and ability to navigate, input data and problem solve within a computer system.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university; OR Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one year directly related experience.
  • Directly related experience is defined as human services experience in the areas of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy and treatment planning.

Responsibilities

  • Interview parents seeking subsidized day care.
  • Obtain information necessary to establish eligibility for subsidized child day care.
  • Fill out necessary forms for documenting applications and recertifications.
  • Assist in arranging placements when requested.
  • Assist child day care providers in maintaining vouchers and necessary documents.
  • Assist with billing and payment processing.
  • Complete change notices as necessary.
  • Perform other child day care program functions and duties as requested by the agency.
  • Administer the Emergency Assistance program and Energy program.
