About The Position

AWAHS is launching an exciting new ‘Journey to Motherhood’ Program to provide culturally safe, wraparound care for Aboriginal women and women carrying Aboriginal babies throughout pregnancy, birth and early parenting. This is an opportunity to join a passionate multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal women, babies and families while creating lasting change for future generations. As the Journey to Motherhood program Social Worker, you will provide culturally safe, trauma informed support to Aboriginal women and families throughout pregnancy, birth and early parenting. You will work closely with women experiencing complex life circumstances by providing counselling, advocacy, care coordination and practical support while working as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference during one of the most important times in a family’s life.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Social Work
  • Eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Experience working with families, maternal health, community health or vulnerable clients
  • Strong counselling, assessment and case management skills

Responsibilities
