About The Position

Under the direction of a Program Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Senior Social Worker provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. The incumbent provides formal supervision (clinical/ professional and/or administrative) to other employees and students in a formal clinical practicum. As a senior practitioner, acts as a resource for other professionals and the community at large for mental health and addiction.

Ability to identify, implement and evaluate areas of client difficulty.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships/partnerships
Knowledge of crisis based intervention strategies
Knowledge of Health Information Protection Act and other legislation.
Ability to provide public presentation and professional training.
Ability to manage a complex caseload with multiple demands
Knowledge of assessment, triage, treatment and case management.
Ability to coordinate resources.
Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Knowledge in recovery philosophy
Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act
Ability to formulate evidence based intervention.
Knowledge in various mental health disorders and stability interventions
Knowledge in community resources and services in the clinical area
Knowledge of the diversity of cultures, values and traditions
Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.
Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies
Ability to work independently
Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
