About The Position

Under the direction of a Program Manager and as part of an interdisciplinary team, the Senior Social Worker provides a range of screening, triage, assessment, treatment and case coordination services to a primarily adult community mental health and addiction population. The incumbent provides formal supervision (clinical/ professional and/or administrative) to other employees and students in a formal clinical practicum. As a senior practitioner, acts as a resource for other professionals and the community at large for mental health and addiction.

  • Ability to manage a complex caseload with multiple demands

  • Ability to coordinate resources.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Knowledge in recovery philosophy
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act
  • Ability to formulate evidence based intervention.
  • Knowledge in various mental health disorders and stability interventions
  • Knowledge in community resources and services in the clinical area
  • Knowledge of the diversity of cultures, values and traditions
  • Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems
  • Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner.
  • Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies
  • Ability to work independently
  • Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
