About The Position

Emplify Health by Gundersen Health System is seeking a Social Work Intern for the 2027 Spring semester. The intern will work with diverse patient populations and collaborate with a team focused on empathy, collaboration, and growth. This position is 0.8 FTE, or 64 hours every two weeks, with daytime hours Monday through Friday. The wage is $18.70 per hour. The department offers a strong teamwork model, career development support through Gundersen’s Career Development Center, and opportunities to grow within the health system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Must be qualified to graduate from a baccalaureate or master’s Social Work Program between December and May following the internship.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to assessment, planning, consulting, education, and referral processes by collecting and documenting data at the direction of the Social Worker.
• Assist in formulating and carrying out the patient’s individualized plan of care.
• Reinforce patient education initiated by the Social Worker.
