About The Position

The Field Liaison position is a non-classified teaching position in the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare Social Work Program at UW-Milwaukee. The Field Education Program provides students with direct social work practice experience in the multi-cultural community of Milwaukee, and surrounding communities. The Liaison serves as a link between undergraduate and graduate social work students and field placement agencies. The Liaison must have the capacity to assist in the education and professional development of a diverse group. This position will be focused on the development of agency placements outside of southeastern Wisconsin.

Requirements

Licensed Clinical or Advanced Practice Social Worker
At least five years post-MSW social work experience
Aptitude and demonstrated experience using advanced technologies with efficiency including course management sites, multiple databases, Office 365, Microsoft Office, and web-based navigation systems and video conferencing

Nice To Haves

Experience as a social work field instructor
Experience as an instructor in higher education or professional continuing education training
Organized, flexible with good time management and problem-solving skills
Experience with professional collaborations
Knowledge of the social service community in Wisconsin
LCSW and leadership/supervisory experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task
Experience with internship placement software (ie Sonia, Tevera, Exxat Prism)

Responsibilities

Development and maintenance of agency practicum sites
Training of and linkage with Field Instructors
Placement and oversight of students in their field education practicum
Instructional responsibility for integrated field seminars, student and Field Instructor orientations and trainings
Contribution toward ongoing Field Program development
