About The Position

This position is a 0.5 FTE located at HB Woodlawn. The role involves planning and effectively delivering the social studies curriculum, incorporating differentiated instruction, and utilizing a variety of instructional strategies, including technology applications. The teacher will work in collaborative teams, communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff, and participate in professional development. Salary will be based on the FY2026-27 salary schedule. Arlington Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

• Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
• Social Studies endorsement.
• Experience working with high school students.
• Ability to interact collaboratively with students, school staff and parents.
• Proficiency with technology and an understanding of instructional applications of technology.
• Ability and experience with a diverse population of students.
• Ability to be flexible, dependable and highly organized.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
