Requirements

  • Associate degree in Human Services or a related field
  • At least one year of experience in social services, public service, customer service, or a related helping profession
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
  • Dependability and a strong commitment to being present and engaged for clients and coworkers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with computers and data entry.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Comfort using everyday office technology and software.
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks, including occasional lifting of items up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work primarily in an office environment while moving about the workspace as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations or community assistance programs

Responsibilities

  • Meet with individuals and families seeking assistance and assess eligibility for available programs
  • Provide assistance through food pantry services, vouchers, clothing, furniture, and emergency financial aid
  • Provide oversight of the Day Shelter within the Facility
  • Help clients complete applications and gather required documentation
  • Coordinate rent and utility assistance with landlords and utility providers
  • Connect clients with community resources and partner agencies
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records
  • Compile service statistics and reports
  • Answer questions from clients and community members regarding available programs and services
  • Assist with seasonal and special community programs as needed
  • Support food pantry operations, including inventory and distribution management
