About The Position
This position is responsible for providing social service assistance to eligible clients in the areas of food, lodging, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance. The role involves interviewing clients to determine need and eligibility, preparing accurate client records, referring clients to community agencies, and ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- Two (2) years of experience performing clerical work in an office environment
- Valid State Driver's License
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.

- Additional secretarial courses preferred
Responsibilities
- Greets and interviews clients requesting assistance, determines eligibility based on program guidelines and restrictions, and assists clients with completing required applications and documentation.
- Prepares and processes food, clothing, furniture, rent, utility, and other approved assistance for eligible clients, including coordination with landlords, utility providers, and other resources.
- Provides food pantry assistance; receives and stocks donated pantry items; and maintains accurate pantry disbursement and inventory records.
- Serves as a liaison with community agencies to obtain and coordinate assistance on behalf of clients and maintains effective professional working relationships.
- Prepares, files, reviews, and maintains accurate and confidential client records, service statistics, and monthly statistical reports in a timely manner.
