This position is responsible for providing social service assistance to eligible clients in the areas of food, lodging, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance. It involves interviewing clients to determine need and eligibility, preparing client records, referring clients to community agencies, and maintaining effective working relationships. Additionally, the role involves answering the telephone courteously, directing calls, taking messages, receiving deliveries and donations, greeting visitors, providing general information about The Salvation Army's operations and services, and performing routine clerical tasks such as typing and filing.
