Under general supervision, the Social Services Training Specialist performs work at the full-performance level that focuses on designing, developing, and delivering training programs for individuals working in Child Welfare programs in the Office of Quality Initiatives, Division of Professional Development, Bureau for Social Services. They are responsible for developing, providing, and evaluating competency-based training for new and tenured staff including, but not limited to, policies and procedures, computer documentation systems, and social work skills to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of Child Welfare staff and ensure they are well-equipped to provide effective and compassionate support to individuals and communities. They must use independent judgment in administrative and operational aspects of training provision including classroom management and trainee supervision and evaluation. Perform related work as required. Statewide travel is required. Program experience is required.
