About The Position

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is seeking a Director for the Michigan Youth Treatment Center (MYTC). The MYTC is a fully licensed child caring institution dedicated to creating a nurturing and empowering environment where youth and staff feel safe, valued, and supported. The program offers comprehensive therapeutic, psychiatric, educational, vocational, and re-entry services tailored to the complex needs of youth in care. This role involves the overall leadership and management of a secure treatment program that operates 24/7, 365 days a year. The Director is responsible for overseeing the facility’s budget and directing the work of over 40 professional staff across multiple shifts. A key aspect of this role is ensuring that all youth receive services within a cohesive treatment philosophy that upholds dignity and respect, irrespective of cultural, ethnic, or religious background, and ultimately equips youth with the tools for long-term success.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Equitable Classification Plan (ECP) Group Three manager.
  • Attach a resume identifying specific experience and dates of employment (month and year, hours per week).

  • Successful completion of a background investigation and a criminal records check.
  • Prohibition of using artificial intelligence (AI) software in any part of the selection process.
