About The Position

This position oversees the daily aspects of the Social Services Office, interviewing, evaluating, documenting, and providing assistance for various needs such as food, clothing, shelter, utilities, and transportation. The role involves maintaining client files, collaborating with community organizations, preparing reports, managing office and food pantry organization, and supervising volunteers and community service workers. Assistance with seasonal programs and temporary staff may also be required.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must have knowledge of computers and all Microsoft Office Suite software applications, as well as extensive knowledge and use of Lotus Notes
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, telephone, and communication skills; both oral and written
  • Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as typing letters and composing emails
  • Ability to follow directions without supervision
  • Excellent detail, organization and file management skills
  • Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment
  • Ability to work in a team setting with other professionals
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the non-profit sector with an emphasis on social services is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily aspects of the Social Services Office
  • Interview, evaluate, document and provide assistance where applicable for the following services: food, clothing, shelter, utilities, transportation, and other needs.
  • Maintain and update client files in the TSA computer program
  • Work with businesses, churches, and other community organizations to provide services and secure donations
  • Attend community networking meetings as assigned by the Corps Officer
  • Prepare and submit all monthly reports such as Three Three Square food bank, Advisory Board, etc.
  • Maintain order and neatness of all common areas and office area
  • Stock and maintain the food pantry
  • Recruit, coordinate, train, and supervise volunteers
  • Supervise, schedule, maintain records, and submit reports for community service workers
  • Assist with the Christmas Angel program as needed
  • Assist temporary seasonal staff as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
