About The Position

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. The Division of Juvenile Justice is recruiting to fill a Social Services Associate position located in Kenai at the Kenai Peninsula Youth Facility. The role involves assisting Juvenile Probation Officers by providing a full range of clerical/support services and limited intake and field supervision duties. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining case files and Juvenile Offender Management Information System files to meet compliance guidelines, maintaining office supplies and equipment, assisting with timesheets, travel booking, and other duties as assigned. The organization's mission is to hold juvenile offenders accountable for their behavior through Restorative Justice, promote the safety and restoration of victims and communities, and assist offenders and their families in developing skills to prevent crime. Requirements

  • One year of any combination of postsecondary or vocational education and/or experience in assisting clients, customers, the general public, or other staff in the explanation and application of guidelines, policies, or services.
  • Valid Alaska driver's license (required for some positions).
  • Background check.
  • Fingerprinting.
  • Ability to submit transcripts if using education to meet MQs.
  • Ability to submit three (3) names & phone numbers of professional references.
  • Ability to submit two (2) performance evaluations from previous employers, if available.
  • Answer Supplemental Questions.
  • Legal right to accept employment in the United States.
