Social Services Assistant
About The Position
We are currently seeking a Social Services Assistant for the Arlington Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center in Birmingham, AL. The primary responsibility is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Social Services department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards. The goal is to ensure that the medically related emotional and social needs of the residents are met and maintained on an individual basis. The role also involves assisting the Director of Social Services in acting as a liaison and representative of the residents' social interests. This is an opportunity for those who desire to work in a fast-paced geriatric rehabilitation environment.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work, HealthCare Administration, or a related field, WITH relevant experience in marketing, admissions and discharges
- Must read, write, speak and understand English
- Previous experience or completion of appropriate training program
- Must have patience, tact, enthusiasm and a positive attitude toward the elderly
Nice To Haves
- Previous SNF or hospital experience preferred
