About The Position

The Social Services Assistant provides medically related social services to attain or maintain the highest physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of our residents under the supervision of the Social Services Director.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (Social Services Designee Certificate preferred)
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in social work or human services field preferred.
  • Strong passion for geriatric advocacy and commitment to senior care excellence.
  • Previous social services experience preferred.
  • CNA certification preferred.
  • Demonstrates C.A.R.E. values (Compassion, Accountability, Relationships, Excellence) to residents, family members, customers, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provides medically related social services to attain or maintain the highest physical, mental and psychosocial well-being of residents.
  • Works under the supervision of the Social Services Director.
  • Engages residents and families empathetically.
  • Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Resolves conflicts and mediates disputes.
  • Creates a comforting and engaging atmosphere for residents.
  • Collaborates with and promotes collaboration among departments, professionals, consultants, and organizations, including government regulatory agencies.
  • Works towards the common goal of excellent care for residents.
