Social Service Housing Advisor - Ronkonkoma
About The Position
The Suffolk County Department of Social Services is seeking a Social Service Housing Advisor. This role assists in developing permanent housing and various types of emergency shelters, and inspects such housing for health and safety compliance. The advisor will supervise Community Service Workers involved in emergency shelter/motel relocation programs, confer with property owners on the correction of housing violations, attend meetings as necessary, maintain files of area housing resources, and inspect rentals for compliance with health and safety requirements for security.
Requirements
- Graduation from a standard senior high school, or possession of a high school equivalency diploma
- Three (3) years of experience in the areas of building inspections, building construction, real estate sales or a related field
- Possession of a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State
Responsibilities
