About The Position

The Social Service Director plays a pivotal leadership role in overseeing and managing social service programs within an organization, ensuring that services meet the needs of the community effectively and compassionately. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in social services, including three years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Strong knowledge of social service programs, community resources, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and oversee program development.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills daily to guide and motivate their team, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
  • Analytical and strategic planning skills are essential for developing effective programs and managing resources efficiently.
  • Communication skills are critical for engaging with staff, clients, community partners, and policymakers to advocate for social services and foster collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Public Administration (MPA), or a related discipline.
  • Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and in multidisciplinary team environments.
  • Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising strategies.
  • Demonstrated success in community outreach and advocacy initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate social service programs to address community needs and organizational goals.
