About The Position

NORTHEAST DELTA HUMAN SERVICES AUTHORITY MISSION: Serve as a catalyst for individuals with mental health, developmental disabilities, and addictive disorders to help them realize their full human potential by offering quality, excellent care with greater accessibility. Northeast Delta Human Services Authority is seeking a Social Service Counselor 4-B to provide services within a behavioral health clinic. This position requires knowledge of clinical interventions and operational practices for treating Substance Use Disorders within a whole-person, integrated care environment, where behavioral health and physical health are treated as interdependent components of overall wellness. Applicants with licensure as a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) or Registered Addiction Counselor (RAC) are encouraged to apply. Focusing on Customers: The ability to understand and meet the needs, preferences, and experiences of internal and external customers. Making Accurate Judgments: The ability to assess options, weigh risks, and make sound decisions using available information and logical reasoning.

Requirements

  • Six years of social services experience; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR An advanced degree in a social sciences field plus two years of social services experience.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
  • Positions that provide addictive disorder counseling or prevention services will require certification or eligibility for certification issued by the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority (ADRA), or its successor.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a core member of the integrated treatment team to provide whole-person, trauma-informed care that reduces stigma surrounding mental health, substance use, and physical healthcare.
  • Deliver ongoing substance use treatment through individual counseling, group therapy, psychoeducation, and random urine drug screens.
  • Coordinate with care managers, prescribers, nurses, peer support specialists, and community partners to support holistic improvements in health.
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage treatment for complex behavioral health and co-occurring conditions, conducting both initial and follow-up integrated assessments such as ASI/CASI.
  • Develop integrated treatment plans that address substance use, mental health, and physical health needs in coordination with LDH clinical guidelines.
