About The Position

The Social Service Coordinator is responsible for facilitating services that enhance the quality of life for affordable housing residents, promoting cultural appreciation, diversity, and resident involvement to create a safe and positive living environment. This role involves providing basic case management and coordinating programs and events focused on health, wellness, nutrition, academic support, financial literacy, occupational wellness, stability, and social/community engagement.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office Suite, and general computer software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project Planning Skills and Knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of ETO or similar database experience preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) to three (3) years’ work experience in Social Services or related field.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate or coordinate programs, activities, and social services for senior citizens and people with disabilities, utilizing community resources.
  • Promote appropriate health and wellness programs and educational programs to enhance physical and mental health.
  • Facilitate occupational wellness and financial literacy programs to promote economic stability and self-sufficiency, including technical/computer skills.
  • Assist with case management needs for seniors to enable aging in place and provide assistance to people with disabilities.
  • Organize social engagement events, including holiday and recreational events, and programs focused on developing safe and strong communities.
  • Facilitate educational programs for senior residents utilizing community resources, including planning and teaching curriculum.
  • Develop and utilize resource files for resident referrals and provide follow-up.
  • Engage and develop community partnerships and/or volunteers to support programming.
  • Lead on-site food distribution programs to ensure residents have accessible food resources.
  • Create service goals and plans with residents, support goal achievement, and monitor progress, including conducting wellness checks.
  • Track case management progress, demographic information, and monthly program attendance using data systems.
  • Publish and distribute monthly community newsletters and calendars to residents.
  • Provide customer service to partner property management, assisting residents with lease compliance.
  • Follow Healthy Homes Program procedures to ensure resident compliance with housing inspections.
  • Manage, track, and use the site budget according to financial procedures.
  • Provide technical assistance to resident associations.
  • Attend mandatory training/conferences, which may require overnight stays.
  • Be flexible to occasionally work evenings and/or weekends for special events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
