About The Position
The Adams County Children and Youth agency is seeking a dedicated and organized Social Service Aide to assist youth as they are transitioning toward adulthood. This role provides hands-on support, transportation services, life‑skills instruction, and administrative coordination to help youth successfully reach their IL goals. This position is ideal for someone passionate about empowering youth, highly organized, and comfortable balancing direct support with administrative duties.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 33)
- Pennsylvania State Police Request for Criminal Records Check (Act 34)
- FBI Criminal Background Check (Act 73)

Responsibilities
- Provide dependable transportation for youth to classes, activities, and Independent Living related appointments.
- Support preparation, facilitation, and curriculum updates for life-skill classes, activities and one on one IL instruction.
- Assist youth in navigating community resources and state programs.
- Prepare Renter's Program (PREP) curriculum and training materials.
- Develop, maintain, and serves as a point of contact for community partner who wish to donate to the program.
- Provide backup administrative duties when IL office assistant in unavailable.
