About The Position
This recruitment is for Social Service Aid III (DL), SR-09, located in Hilo, Hawaii. These positions require a current and valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle. The role involves independently providing all supportive services for a unit or team, participating in team activities, and performing limited field work. This includes checking with clients, encouraging them to use available resources, following up on cases periodically, and relaying information, problems, and observations to professional staff. Other related duties are also assigned.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in providing supportive services to social workers, vocational rehabilitation specialists, public housing managers, or other professional workers in such programs as public welfare, family court, vocational rehabilitation, and public housing
- Experience performing clerical tasks in processing various documents
- Experience transporting clients and materials to and from various destinations
- Experience explaining to clients or tenants the services available
- Experience assisting in overseeing group activities such as bowling and swimming
- Must possess a current and valid driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle
