About The Position

This position is essential to deliver and continue to grow the Latino Research Institute’s (LRI) research-focused areas. The LRI aims to expand its reach and impact through collaborations with affiliated researchers, which requires having social scientists with various levels of skillsets. The purpose of this role is to assist LRI affiliates and other researchers in executing research methodologies that will advance research projects.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with major coursework in the field of assignment, plus two years of related experience, or a bachelor's degree with four years of experience working toward a graduate degree in the field of assignment.
  • Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strict attention to detail, independent, and proactive.
  • Ability to work in a team environment working in concert with the research team.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet stringent deadlines.
  • Excellent methodological and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist LRI affiliates and other researchers in executing research methodologies that will advance research projects.
  • Activities may include data collection, quality control observations, reporting, participant recruitment and management, supervise day-to-day activities of data collection staff, content management, and literature review development.
  • Manage research data in various software (e.g., REDCap and Qualtrics) and prepare data for reports and manuscripts.
  • Provide Spanish-language translation support to researchers who are developing recruitment, instruments, and related materials.
  • Ensure that research materials are linguistically and culturally appropriate for Spanish-speaking populations.
  • Contribute to the development of reports for institutional entities at UT Austin, sponsors, and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare materials for dissemination.
  • Assist with coordination of research initiatives by managing assigned special research-related projects by coordinating meetings, preparing project documents, maintaining communication with leadership, keeping accurate records, and cultivating relationships with community and academic stakeholders.
