About The Position

The Social Recreation Specialist is responsible for supporting operational functions within the Social Recreation service line for the Disability Services Division to drive program growth and maximize impact for the individuals and families served. This role manages the service delivery process from referral through ongoing support, develops person-centered service plans, facilitates Direct Support Professional (DSP) trainings, and collaborates closely with internal departments and Regional Center partners to ensure high-quality, compliant, and person-centered services. The Social Recreation Specialist promotes community inclusion, supports goal achievement for individuals served, and embodies the company’s mission of making a difference every day. This is a hybrid position, coming into the El Segundo office 1x per month.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
  • Certification or experience in person-centered planning and thinking preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in person-centered practices and/or care plan development strongly preferred
  • Experience working in disability services, community-based programs, or related service environments preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel as needed for assessments, meetings, trainings, and office support

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments and develop Individual Service Plans (ISPs), goal reviews, and planning meetings for assigned caseloads
  • Manage a caseload of 100+ families from referral through service initiation while ensuring a smooth and supportive onboarding experience
  • Utilize person-centered planning techniques to develop individualized goals and service plans for persons served
  • Facilitate weekly trainings for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) focused on community inclusion and socialization skill development
  • Coordinate with Regional Centers and internal departments to support efficient referral, authorization, and service delivery processes
  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reporting, and electronic records to support compliance and continuity of services
  • Respond to consumer and family questions regarding services while supporting operational, staffing, and customer service needs as required

  • The expected California Pay Range for this position: $21.84 - $23.89 USD
