About The Position

El Pasoans Fighting Hunger (EPFH) is the only food bank serving the greater El Paso region, covering nearly 10,000 square miles along the borderland. Serving the 22nd largest city in the United States, EPFH distributes food through over 100 partner pantries, on-site pantry distribution, and innovative programs seeking to reduce food insecurity in our community. As the second youngest food bank in the nation and the sixth largest in food distribution, EPFH is the largest hunger-relief organization in the region. Requirements

  • Hosting, customer service, and/or community outreach experience.
  • Experience managing social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and others.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask several projects at once.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively in a team environment.
  • Great problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in fast-moving conditions.
  • A self-motivated, positive, and professional presence.
  • Unquestionable character and a commitment to serving the community.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle with current insurance, and ability to pass a background check and drug testing.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit volunteers through social media, email campaigns, special events, and outreach channels; build strategies to grow and sustain the volunteer base.
  • Develop positive relationships with companies, schools, and businesses to strengthen community engagement.
  • Design and implement engaging volunteer work shifts; develop incentives and recognition programs to keep volunteers coming back.
  • Partner with the Director of Media Relations and Director of Brand Communications to align outreach and establish reachable goals.
  • Maintain a volunteer newsletter.
  • Compile reports that showcase volunteer efforts.
  • Stay current on trends and best practices at the regional, state, and national levels.
  • Ensure that volunteers are trained in personal safety as well as safe food handling practices.
  • Assist with the receipt and processing of community service payments.
  • Partner with front desk staff to ensure backup coverage for volunteer check-in and coordination.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
