About The Position

This is a Social Media Student Intern position within the Marketing and Communications team at the Moody College of Communication. The intern will support the team by creating compelling multimedia content for the college's social media, focusing on reels and student/alumni highlights for the @texasmoody account. This role offers an opportunity to build a social media portfolio in a creative, fast-paced environment at a top-tier university.

Requirements

Current UT Austin Student
Familiar with Moody College
Must be rising junior or senior
Knowledgeable on all social media platforms. Instagram in particular.
Interested in and keep a pulse on social media trends
Excellent written communication
Basic knowledge of video editing and graphic design.
Experience shooting and editing reels using Instagram Edits and/or Premiere Pro.
Self-motivated and problem-solver who knows when to ask for help
Works well with a team and comfortable engaging with new people
Experience creating social media content following brand guidelines
Maintain communication, respectful conduct, punctuality and adaptability

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite

Responsibilities

Collaborate and support Moody College’s social media strategy through branded content, with a focus on creating reels and student/alumni highlights for @texasmoody’s account.
Work with the Social Media and Digital Content Manager to create planned content for social media distribution following a content calendar.
Receive assignments and direction to create digital assets for social media, including current student and alumni highlights.
Brainstorm and submit ideas for social media content with a focus on Instagram Reels.
Attend Moody College events and contribute to coverage for social media.
Deliver on deadline to maintain social media publishing schedule and content effectiveness and accuracy.
Create short videos and graphics for social media.
Promote events on social media.
Meet weekly with the Social Media and Digital Content Manager.
