SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORM MANAGER
About The Position
The Pritzker Administration is seeking a Social Media Platform Manager who will be responsible for managing, publishing, and optimizing content across the Governor’s social media platforms. This role oversees day-to-day platform operations, ensuring content is timely, accurate, accessible, and aligned with the Governor’s communications strategy and public messaging goals. The Social Media Platform Manager works closely with the digital, communications, and creative teams to plan, schedule, and distribute content, monitor performance, and engage with audiences as appropriate. This position requires strong judgment, attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and flexibility to respond to real-time events, including evenings and weekends when needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing social media platforms for an organization, brand, or public-facing entity
- Strong writing, editing, and copywriting skills with attention to clarity, accuracy, and tone
- Knowledge of platform-specific best practices (e.g., Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube)
- Experience using social media management and analytics tools
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Marketing, or a related field

Responsibilities
- Report to Deputy Chief of Staff for Digital Media
- Manage day-to-day operations of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker’s social media platforms, including content publishing, scheduling, and monitoring
- Collaborate with the digital, communications, and creative teams to plan and execute social media content aligned with messaging priorities and strategic goals
- Write, edit, and publish accurate, engaging, and accessible copy for social media posts across multiple platforms
- Coordinate with photographers, videographers, and designers to ensure timely delivery and publication of visual content
- Monitor platform performance using analytics tools and provide insights to optimize reach, engagement, and effectiveness
