About Our Summer Internship Program At Gap Inc., our 10-week Summer Internship Program is built around how our business operates—fast-moving, customer-focused, and grounded in the work that brings our brands to life. As an intern, you’ll step into the pace and complexity of a global retail organization, contributing to initiatives that shape our product, our experience, and how we show up for millions of customers. You’ll be embedded on a team from day one, taking on meaningful work and building ownership as the summer progresses. Along the way, you’ll strengthen how you approach your work—using data to inform decisions, solving business problems, and communicating ideas with clarity—while building fluency in tools like AI that help teams work more effectively. As the summer progresses, you’ll be expected to move beyond execution—identifying a meaningful opportunity or challenge within your team, shaping your own point of view, and developing a clear, well-supported recommendation to present at the end of the program. By the end of the summer, you’ll have a deeper understanding of how the business runs, stronger judgment in how you approach your work, and a foundation of experience you can build on as you grow your career. As a Social Media Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting Banana Republic’s social channels, a key connection point for our community and customers. You will work closely with the social media and marketing teams to help create engaging, social-first content that builds brand love and drives customer engagement. Throughout the summer, you’ll support content creation, participate in brainstorming sessions, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to bring campaigns to life. You’ll also gain exposure to influencer marketing and learn how brand partnerships help drive awareness and cultural relevance. Hourly Rate: $35.00 per hour USD This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Requirements

  • Passion for social media, digital storytelling, and the Banana Republic brand
  • Strong understanding of social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and emerging trends
  • Interest in content creation, influencer marketing, and brand storytelling
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working with cross-functional teams
  • Organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Curious and proactive, with a willingness to learn and bring new ideas forward

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with social or creative tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe, CapCut, or similar) is a plus
  • Interest in using digital or AI tools to support content creation is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support weekly content planning and brainstorming sessions to identify new ideas, trends, and social-first storytelling opportunities
  • Assist in building and maintaining the social content calendar, partnering with cross-functional teams (creative, editorial, etc.)
  • Help develop and execute social content, including supporting studio shoots and content production
  • Monitor social media trends, cultural moments, and platform updates to inform content ideas and recommendations
  • Support influencer marketing efforts, including coordinating with agencies, tracking deliverables, and assisting with campaign execution
  • Assist in gathering performance insights and reporting on content and campaign effectiveness
  • Collaborate with partners across marketing, creative, and production teams
