About The Position

iHeartMedia is seeking a Social Media Manager to join the iHeartRadio Los Angeles group of stations. This role is focused on increasing digital listening, follower engagement, brand recognition, brand affinity, and driving overall growth. The ideal candidate will understand the responsibility of leading social media for multiple major brands and be open to a flexible schedule that may include occasional nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in social media or digital marketing, preferably in the entertainment or music industries.
  • Urgency, curiosity, creativity, ability to collaborate with a team, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and strong organizational skills.
  • Always on your phone, with a healthy appetite for Alternative music, pop culture, and entertainment.
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest best practices, tools, and trends on social media platforms (Facebook, Facebook Live, Instagram, Instagram Stories, IGTV, Instagram Live, X, YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, etc.), including sponsored/partner content protocols.
  • Strong writing, proof-reading, and copyediting skills.
  • Ability to capture and create on-the-fly content when covering events (in-person and virtual).
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain a regular posting schedule of content and editorial pieces on Los Angeles stations, with a strong focus on the Alternative Rock genre.
  • Coordinate with various departments and guide on-air personalities to maximize listening opportunities through their personal and station social channels.
  • Respond to music and pop culture events, leveraging these opportunities to introduce new fans to the iHeartRadio ecosystem.
  • Track social media analytics to evaluate past campaigns and inform future strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Program Director to develop and execute station-specific plans aimed at increasing digital listening, social engagement, and other KPIs in alignment with iHeartRadio’s overall strategy.
  • Oversee all social media touchpoints for music fandoms, including new releases, social-first campaigns, and other interactions to boost fan and community engagement.
  • Work with on-air talent to localize and personalize content, making it more relevant and engaging on station social platforms.
  • Cover local LA-station events and national iHeartRadio tentpole events, capturing content and posting real-time event coverage.
  • Write and edit compelling social media copy to engage fans and lead community engagement.
