About The Position

The Urban Land Institute (“ULI”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit research and education organization supported by its members. As the preeminent, multidisciplinary real estate forum, ULI facilitates the open exchange of ideas, information, and experience among local, regional, national, and international industry leaders and policy makers dedicated to creating better places. The Social Media Manager will be responsible for developing and managing social media content that enhances ULI global and America’s regional thought leadership, influence, and brand awareness. This role involves creating compelling content, managing social media channels, engaging with ULI followers, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure content accuracy and consistency. The ideal candidate will be creative, strategic, and proficient in using social media tools, analytics platforms, and design tools. The salary range for this role is $78,986.00 - $85,898.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in leading social media management for key organizational accounts.
  • Creative skills, including art direction and the ability to create and edit graphics and video content.
  • Strong understanding of real estate and/or global membership organizations.
  • Should possess a keen attention to detail and demonstrate flexibility in fast-changing settings.
  • Must have superior written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experienced copywriter capable of writing in various formats.
  • Ability to create and edit graphics and video content.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, including Hootsuite, Canva, and analytics.
  • Experience with paid social media strategies.
  • Skilled at managing competing priorities under pressure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, and/or other relevant fields.
  • Prior experience in working in a digital media agency and brand campaigns and/or managing social media for political campaigns.
  • Interest in the built environment (housing, commercial real estate, city revitalization, urban planning and development).

Responsibilities

  • Develop, draft, and publish approximately five posts per week with a primary focus on LinkedIn, followed my Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
  • Collect, create, and collaborate on assets such as graphics, visuals, and storyboards. Creative responsibilities include light video editing, photography, and photo editing.
  • Schedule and manage posts using Hootsuite or similar tools.
  • Own, maintain, and regularly update the social media editorial calendar, adjusting based on performance data, engagement metrics, and business priorities.
  • Represents ULI as a global organization and can liaise with regional and district council colleagues. Provides guidance on social media best practices, supporting brand compliance and strategic alignment among all parties.
  • Actively engage with followers by liking, resharing, and commenting on content from regional offices, stakeholders, and district council pages.
  • Monitor social media inboxes, promptly addressing and tracking incoming requests.
  • Lead monthly social media standup meetings to review and plan content strategies.
  • Distribute user-generated content to stakeholders and employees to increase engagement around key events using hashtags and graphics.
  • Develop and implement best practices and guidelines for effective social media management.
  • Develop and manage social media performance metrics dashboard and monthly report out.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create weekly content that aligns with broader organizational goals, content theme, and narratives.
  • Develop a proactive quarterly social media calendar in coordination with the VP of Digital Marketing and stakeholders, highlighting major themes, events, and milestones.
  • Support bespoke campaigns focused on engagement tools for various stakeholder groups and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Provide social media support to district councils, including guidance on creating Canva graphics and troubleshooting Hootsuite issues.
