About The Position

We are seeking to hire a student worker for the Office of Communications. Duties include assisting staff in creating press releases, social media posts, taking photos and producing videos for the DuQuoin State Fair. This is a perfect opportunity for a student looking to gain experience in the field of communications, to be involved with one of the most popular events in Illinois. The internship provides a one of a kind experience seeing how an event of this magnitude is covered by the media and how to handle the public relations demands that come with hosting the DuQuoin State Fair. This internship will take place from August 28th, 2026 - September 7, 2026. Selected candidate must be able to work every day of the 2026 fair. Our ideal candidate is a communications major who wants to enter the public or media relations field upon completing school.
