About The Position

Friends of Switchpoint is a non-profit organization that has been serving individuals, families, and veterans experiencing poverty and homelessness since 2014. The organization's mission is to empower those in need by addressing the underlying causes of poverty and providing personalized, comprehensive plans for self-sufficiency. This role is for a bold, creative, and driven Social Media Coordinator who is excited to bring Switchpoint’s story to life online. The coordinator will help plan, create, and execute engaging content that captures both the nonprofit mission and the energy of its five social enterprise businesses, including thrift stores, coffee shops, a childcare program, a doggy daycare, and a community garden. This is a full-time, hands-on role based in St. George, ideal for someone who loves storytelling, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and wants their work to make a real impact.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Canva, CapCut (or similar editing tools), and major social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok
  • Ability to shoot, edit, and produce high-quality content using a smartphone
  • Experience using social media scheduling and content management tools
  • Strong creative eye with attention to visual storytelling and brand consistency
  • Passion for mission-driven work, particularly in nonprofit or community-focused environments
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage priorities without close supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to plan and execute content consistently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and visual

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with nonprofit communications or community storytelling
  • Portfolio or examples of past social media work demonstrating creativity and results

Responsibilities

  • Develop Switchpoint’s presence on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok with fresh, engaging content
  • Shoot and edit short-form video using a mobile phone, both on-site and in the field
  • Plan, organize, and schedule content across platforms using scheduling tools
  • Tell compelling stories that highlight Switchpoint’s people, businesses, and mission
  • Generate creative ideas and take initiative to execute them from concept through completion
